Spring somehow speaks to me through plaid. There is something about the french rustic style that goes so well and gives me quite a cozy feeling. I am a sucker for plaid that is why the first thing that came to my mind for spring decor renewal is exactly plaid.
There is simplicity and the easiness of maintenance – spots and stains are harder to spot on plaid pattern. Having a cat, a dog and two kids this is of paramount importance. I do not wish the first thing to see on my pillows to be the marks of their fun and games. That is why I am going plaid for the living room this year.
Of course I would like to share with you the options I have been reviewing these days. There are so many colors and styles to pick from. Take a look and share your opinion which ones you like the most.
Apparently I am drawn to larger scale pattern for this task, but there are some smaller scale that I loved as well. Which ones do you love the most? Your oppinion will help me design products for my own store that you can find HERE

Hey all of you obsessed with home decorating. This is a new weekly post where I will take a beautiful interior photo and show you how you can achieve it on a budget. Style does not have to cost a fortune – you can DIY and you can re purpose and also there are great finds than can help you achieve the look you want.
It is a very contemporary design, very modern and elegant. Great style for a couple – not too masculine, not too feminine. Love the mix of fabrics and the stacking of them.
*The article contains affiliate links – they are our fuel. We will be really grateful if you chose to use them.
Ottoman – hidden in the corner but very nice accent is the moroccan white pouf with black stitching. The one I found on ETSY is a bargain deal of 2 made from genuine leather.
Clothes Ladder – i promised you some DIY and here is the first project. Unless you want to spend hundreds (i am not kidding) on a white washed ladder you better do it yourself. Here is a great ladder that will look amazing with some sanding and a coat of chalk paint. If you are not DIY-er you can come up with an agreement with the maker to paint it to your liking.
The Blanket – two options for you again a DIY pattern for those of you who love to knit and a ready made blanket for those of you who are not into knitting
The Paper Bag – they are everywhere, they are trendy and you can use them in every room. Here are a couple of favorites with motivational quotes.
Faux Fur Throw – remember we never will recommend using real fur. Always go for faux – it is not cruel. Faux fur is great for creating hygge feeling in any room.
Knitted Pillow – the reason i started with this interior is first i want to make it my own asap and second because of the knits. I am obsessed about knitwear and knitted fabrics. They make the home feel so cozy. The one I have picked is made of cotton and is amazing.
Hanging Light – never save on lights. They are like the earrings of the room. The better they are the better your home looks. Our recommendation is this lamp, which you can customize a lot to make it fit perfectly into the decor.
Night Stand – our suggestion s a very practice one. Although not a perfect match I believe those two to be of great use and still match the overall style of the bedroom. They are a bargain when we talk money.
Flowers – unless you can afford fresh flowers all year round our suggestion is go for faux peonies. They are durable, easy to maintain and generally look amazing.
Graphic Artwork – nothing more versatile than graphic artwork. If you can draw or paint – go ahead, DIY, but if you are pencil scared go for our pick
We hope you can now make the bedroom yours without breaking the bank. Let us know how it went, we would be happy to see photos of your rooms.
Industrial style will never stop being modern and fun. Using hard and harsh materials gives the decor a masculine feel but also a very artistic one. It will always be modern and it will be sustainable as well. There is nothing more fulfilling than re purposing.

As weather is getting warmer the bohemian in me is awakened very fast. I was watching a TV show yesterday and one of the characters, who was very rich apparently, had this ethnic boho inspired home and I was hooked. Just a few minutes later I was on Etsy looking for amazing baskets to hang on the wall and use as a storage. Aren’t they cozy!
When I see such displays I almost feel like on a safari or a far away vacation. The natural materials and fabulous selection of accent colors give such warmth to any room. It is soothing, it is relaxing and fun at the same time. I can’t seem to stop marveling at the craftsmanship that goes into the baskets. It takes hours and days to make one, it takes experience and creativity and it also gives the home character.
Here are the best 10 ethnic baskets I found on Etsy. Enjoy, comment, buy if you feel like it. Disclaimer – the links below are affliate links. By using them you are helping me run this blog and my family for which I am eternally grateful.
Beautiful basket for hanging on the wall, geometric patterns are woven into the basket. A golden tan/brown, and black make up the abstract designs.
Could also be used as a basket to organize accessories on a coffee or entryway table. Would also look very lovely on a kitchen table (even in the kitchen to hold fruits/veggies).
Diameter measures approx. 16″, height is approx. 5″
Vintage handmade African baskets, ethnic boho decor, very versatile complement to any room style, hang the on the wall, display on a console or dining room table, Getting three of them will help to get the look of collected and curated decor.
The fitted lid closes the pan.
Hand woven with Typha grass.
He still smells like dried grass. Do you believe how beautiful this will be when displayed. Love the color combo – modern and still close to nature.
Buying from Africa has also another adantage – you sponsor the local crafting community. It is a good choice instead of purchasing mass produced items. These people learn and master their craft all their lives and on that they rely to survive. I encourage you to pick up buying from local crafters as a chaity and a lifestyle. Not only you will have masterpiece around the house, you will also help and that is something to be proud of.
If you liked the collection and want to see more basket finds head to my Pinterest board and knock yourselves out.
Boho is a great trend. It is a combination between hippie, ethnic and whimsical I can not seem to get enough of. I have been dreaming of making a bohemian bedroom for me and my SO for quite some time now. I have been collecting great finds on my Bohemian Decor board on Pinterest and literally drooling over some of the things I came across while researching the boho decor style.
Etsy turns out to be one of the best places to go for if you want to get quality handmade bohemian items. That is why now I will share with you my list of very best wall tapestries – an absolute must in every boho room. They change the dimentions of the room and make it out worldly. Especially the big ones – they turn the room from simple square space to a much more organic shape.
Bohemian decor is bringing home decor back to nature and the natural ways people are meant to be. It is the absolute opposite of minimalism and still is very feminine and soft. If someday I have a She Shed it will definitely have this boho vibe so I can feel as womanly as possible.
So go on – have a look at my favorite finds. Hope you will come to love them as much as I do.

Macrame Hanging Wall tapestry
Delicate and quite modern piece. I have always thought that macrame and the things made with it is a bit granny style but this wall tapestry proved me wrong 100%. Found it on the Noma Macrame store where you can see all sorts of beautiful things. I encourage you to look through them and see if your piece is there and waiting.
Shabby and very free feeling. This wall hanging tapestry is a combination of a variety of fabrics, textures, crystals and natural elements. Love how gypsy it feels but still is modern and stylish without being kitsch. Found it on Onamaiart shop along with many other beautiful items. Totally worth the time to look through it.
This piece is such a showstopper! Can’t wait to get my hands on it. My living room will be lit with it and will look stunning. This piece will be the subject of conversation with everyone who enters. My guests will be as enchanted as I am. It is the scale, it is the color and it is the overall composition too. Love it. Love the store I found it – TeddyandWool.
And now to the big tapestries we go. I love how effortless they turn a bland wall into a colorful masterpiece. You can align them so they do not match the corners of the wall and create your serene boho cave in a corner of the room. Nothing to it. Just look at some corner boho caves on my Bohemian decor pinterest board. This big tapestry will fit perfectly. It is big enough and the Yin Yang design is very subtle. Found on the GoodArtUK store.
I have no trouble imagining this tapestry as a background for my meditation cave. Call it meditation, call it just some me time for quieting the mind. Call it whatever but this mandala is both calming and warming for me. I would love to see it when I open my eyes and absorb the beauty and love those colors bring. Found on the BrandlessArtist Etsy Store.
As for summer – this is the one. I can see my summer villa with it and it will look so fresh and still cozy and comfortable. Speaking of she sheds – i can think of a space – an outdoor kitchen that can be easily transformed int art/she shed space and this tapestry is on the list. Definitely. Found on the DesignBohemian store.
Elephants are a symbol of good luck and prosperity. One of the richest guys I know has filled his house with them and is super lucky in love, live and work. I think it is worth the try and the pinch of belief.
Boho design and India go together like two peas in a pod. This is authentic block printed tapestry. I belie that handmade carries some of the love and spirit of the maker. Such intricate work requires a lot of love and dedication. That I find really inspiring.
This is how my bedroom should look. Big, gigantic tapestry behind the bed. So cozy and warm and graphic. Love, love, love it. Found on the Karmandala store. They have all sorts of wonderfil tapestries. Take a good look around. I am sure you will be very tempted to buy them all.
Hope you loved my collection aka shopping list. Is there anything you would add that will make a boho room a showstopper?

Another great holiday is coming along. Even though I am not Irish I see no problem in celebrating the holiday of luck with some great Irish friends. It is a wonderful way to remind ourselves that we forge our own luck with wit and fun. And of course another great occasion to decorate our home to be festive and fun too.
Shamrocks, horseshoes, wearing green and drinking ale, whiskey and beer (just the adults of course!). what a holiday it is. This year I have been looking a lot around etsy to refresh our decor. For the first time we are going to use wreaths too. Not a big fan of wreaths but found some fantastic ones that are crying to be hanged on our living room wall or door.
Below you can find the list of products I fell in love with.

Irish ladder with signs is something I found in ASentimentalSeason store. It is a great find for hanging in the hallway for entertaining the guests from entering the house.
Wreaths I promised you and wreaths I deliver. A beautiful monogram wreath for the front door with a very non-tacky green ribbon and berry branches found on the ElegantWreath store. Get yours here.
A great statement piece this wreath is. I love the branches and the vines and the very bright ribbon. What I love most about this wreath is that it can be reused after St Patrick’s day too – just remove the ribbon and have all season beauty. Found it on AHolidayShoppe – a great place to go for wreaths and holiday decor. Get your garland here.
But wreaths can go on steroids too. We can see that very easily on TheWhisperingWreath shop. This is a great wild irish party welcome piece. Bold and quite daring – exactly what the holiday wants from us. Get yours here.
I know I went overboard with the wreaths but I promise – this is the last one. It is so stylish and elaborate I couldn’t resist sharing this find. The branches and the flowers are so well balanced that would keep it a lot longer just because it is lovely and classic. Found it on TwistedPineWreaths etsy shop and you can get your wreath here.
Decoration or a door but not necessary – a green and white felt garland you can put anywhere in the house. Very low key and again – non tacky. St Patricks day can be done with style and staying stylish with this garland found on GracieAndMarie store.
Last but not least – what is a St Patrick’s day without a rainbow treasure hunt. I love hiding clues and giving hint on rainbow colored papers so the kids can find the treasure – a pot filled with chocolate coins. Thous irish gnomes are a great find when they go near the treasure. Found them on the Rainbowsmileshop.
I am curious to hear about what your St. Patrick’s day traditions are. Give me your stories in the comments below.

Baby’s mobile on top of the bed – the first thing that comes to mind when starting a nursery decor, isn’t it. Wondering what to put in sight of your little one is a fun experience. There are so many options on the market. To help you out we gathered the best of the best for you to chose from.
There are woodland themes, princess themes, unicorns, hot air balloons, rain and weather, elephants,
Beautifully crafted handmade nursery mobile with racoons and bears and oak trees. What I love about having handmade toys and decorations for the nursery is that there is love put into the toy. The maker has put something from himself/herself and that makes it special. This mobile is so popular it is almost sold out, so hurry up and get yours before they are gone.
Raising a future pilot – give him your love for planes and flying as early as possible with this beautiful customizable nursery crib mobile. Put his name on it and keep it as a precious family keepsake when he gets old. Imagine taking the mobile out when he is all grown up and has kids of his own. It will be a precious moment for both of you.
I have to admit I have a crush on elephants especially when decorating for a baby. My kid had a fantastic handmade elephant stuffed toy. But if you want to add not one but 4 here is a great option. The colors are great for boys nursery but i wouldn’t hesitate to put it in a girls room too.
Being a boys momma I find it hard to stay away from all boys favourite subjects. But hey girls can love dinosaurs too. A great felt handmade nursery with dinosaurs is waiting for you. ITs palette is bright and will fit various nursery decor colors. Plus it will catch the attention of your baby easily.
And to balance things out here is something for the little princesses. A felt flower crib mobile will add the much needed gentle feel in the girls nursery without being subtle at all. It is a show stopper piece that will make everyone wow.
While still on the floral theme there is a handmade mobile that is facing the baby. The flower heads are turned towards the crib and will catch baby’s attention easily because of the contrast between the petals and inner leaves.
It is unusual but I Love Love Love it! This is the best way to put your fandom into your babys room without being a cliche, Mother of Dragons Crib Mobile is a great way to put magic into your babys life, Imagine how you will show it to your kid when it grows up and watches GOT.

I love when the day is productive. There is nothing more exhilarating than a day when you manage to get all the emotions out and make some very nice designs. I love and love and love that feeling of being fully accomplished artistically for the day. I want more days when I feel creatively spent and that I have given everything I got for the day.
But as well you know some days are just not like that. Some days I wake up and I am an empty bucket – can;t draw a leaf, can’t paint anything and can’t even imagine anything. I am sure you know what I mean. Starting out into drawing, design and creativity is a hard and rather new path for me. Even though I have always been around creative people I never dared to pursue the dream and try to be like them. No, i even felt paralyzed when looking at the blank file / page. All my ideas went away and I was left with just the feeling of frustration and shame. This year I was braver than ever. I made my Zazzle store public again and went on with what my gut told me it is right.
There are mostly hard days ever since but once in a while there is a good one, like yesterday. When it is just flowing. When all just works out. Check out what I managed to do in a day!
It is a great pleasure to have you here. Thank you for coming to my store. Home decor has always been a passion of mine. I have done different things in life but the time was right to go after my passion and have it give birth to wonderful textiles and decorations that will make your house a home.
